Hello, all you wonderful people! We've just had one of the busiest week of our lives - early mornings (getting up before the sun even did) and late nights (way after the sun set). It started last Wednesday with Bump IN - all of us college students went to the acer arena and helped to set up the women's conference. I think we may have hit a world record - we packed 30,000 lunch boxes in 1.5 hours! Then on Thursday, the madness began....
Over 17,111 women attended the Color Your World Women's Conference from over 33 nations. It was really quite amazing! (If you look closely, my handsome husband is in this pic somewhere in the crowd...)
Isn't Ryan such a hunk??? He was put on venue control, so he had to keep tabs on suspicious looking people and keep peace among all the ladies. He did a wonderful job and he looked so good doing it! My job for the conference was delegate catering and pampering. I handed out food boxes, ice cream and cookies to all the women and I was dearly loved because I kept handing out free stuff! Then in the afternoons, (Ali will be so proud) I did hair - I styled women's hair in the pamper tent. I even got a $20 tip - it was actually fun! I felt like a hairdresser - all of the women were telling me their stories just like in a real salon!
Worship with 17,111 women was amazing and loud! The atmosphere was electrifying with such expectation for God to move. And then the speakers (Lisa Bevere, J.John, and Marilyn Skinner) brought such encouraging messages from God's word. I was so inspired!
Here is the worship band - Darlene and the guys...God really showed up in a big way!
Here is me and my good friend, Paula (from North Carolina) taking a break outside of the arena. Behind us is the torch that was used in the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games - now it's a beautiful fountain (which we enjoyed during the 35 degree days!)
Here is another sweet friend, Coral (from South Africa) who worked very hard during conference labeling CDs of the speakers. She worked 14 hours a day with little down time - she's still looks beautiful with not much sleep! She is such a trooper!
Near the end of the conference, we were all getting a bit delirious...this is just one of many incidents during one of our lunch breaks!
This is me and my friend, Kelsey (from Alberta, Canada) in the choir changing rooms before album. It was awesome! We'll hopefully put some of those pics up real soon!
We hope you all have a fabulous week! We have today off of school to rest up so I think we're doing the Aussie thing - we're heading to the beach! We love you all and miss you!
love,
amy xo
